We will study the markings, types and characteristics of corrugated board in order to choose the right metal profile for the roof, facade or fence.

What is corrugated board?

Profiled sheet (also profiled sheet, corrugated board, corrugated sheet) is a facing wall or roofing building material intended for the construction of external fences, walls and roofs

It is a metal sheet made of galvanized sheet steel by cold rolling.

Types and marking of corrugated board

Understanding the basic characteristics of this building material is easy. It is necessary to look at the inscriptions that are on the sheet - they are the same for all manufacturers and are standardized under domestic GOST 24045-94. According to this GOST, it is customary to distinguish the types of corrugated board:

    • Roofing - in most cases the marking is "H". The height of the corrugation is 35-44 mm. Profiled sheets can be used both for installing a new roof, and for repairing an old one. With the help of rigidity and strength, metal profiles marked "N" withstand heavy loads
    • Wall - the height of the corrugation, as in the roofing, 35-44 mm. Wall profiled sheets are marked with the letter "C". The material is widely used for wall work, and to create a variety of structures (garages, hangars), for the construction of fences and other barriers. The professional flooring "C" differs in high depreciation stability and durability
    • Mixed type - usually labeled "HC". From this, it is possible to determine the functional purpose of such profiled sheets. They can be used for both roofing and finishing work. Nevertheless, for finishing and facade work, it is worth choosing only sheets marked "C"

IMPORTANT: Despite the types of markings, the use of the profiled sheet is not allowed for a specific purpose.

In most cases, different brands of corrugated board have similar characteristics, because of which you have to choose the material according to the cost and appearance of the sheets. We recommend the most popular metal profiles:

Profiled sheet sizes: Length and width

Everything is simple. Dimensions are needed to determine the required amount of material for installation work. Also, it is necessary to know the weight of the profiled sheets - in this way the ultimate load is calculated and the type of crate is determined.

  • Bearing and roofing sheeting - the length of the sheets can be any, since this building material is produced by rolling. Roofing decking has the dimensions of a sheet marked H57 - width 750 mm, H60 - 845 mm, H75 - 750 mm
  • Universal sheets - the most common sizes of corrugated sheet for the roof (HC35 or HC44) have the same width of 1000 mm
  • Wall corrugated board - the size of the width of the corrugated sheet for the C10 fence varies between 900-1000 mm, C18, C21 and C44 - 1000 mm

TO DETERMINE THE PROFILIST LENGTH, IT IS NECESSARY TO LOOK AT THE LATEST NUMBERS IN THE MARKING ON THE PRODUCT.
