To decoupage Christmas balls we need:
• Three plastic monophonic balls with a diameter of 5 cm;
• Three napkins for decoupage: two with sheep, and one with Santa Claus;
• White acrylic paint;
• PVA glue;
• Decoupage glossy varnish;
• Foam sponges;
• Three narrow ribbons of satin and organza in different colors;
• scissors;
• Bags or oilcloth;
• Plate for paint and glue;
• Golden outline for decoration;
• Three sticks or pencils.
For accurate work, you need to prepare the workplace, pre-cover it with a bag or oilcloth. We take the balls, remove the hats from them. Pour white paint into a plate and add a little water, about 20%.
We begin to color each ball with a sponge, starting with a hat, then we put a ball on a stick and put it in a glass so that the ball dries. So paint all three balls. We put them in a glass and wait for complete drying, or we accelerate drying with a hairdryer.
We paint all the balls with a second coat of paint and wait for drying. In the meantime, we are preparing pictures for the decor.
Carefully cut small fragments from each napkin. It is better to take napkins with small pictures, then it is convenient to apply them to the ball and the picture is uniform and without wrinkles. Carefully remove the top layer from each piece of the napkin, the bottom two are just white, we remove them. We rinse the plate from under the paint and pour in the same ratio PVA glue and water.
Stir well and now with a sponge we glue each piece of napkin with this mixture to the ball. For each ball its own pieces of napkin.
We also put all the balls on sticks and dry them.
When the surface dries, draw snowflakes in the outline and dry it again. We measure 20 cm of each ribbon, we burn the edges of each.
We loop the ribbons and tie the knots. The final step is to coat the balls with glossy varnish in several layers, pausing for drying.
Dress the hats with ribbons on the balls and you're done! You can decorate your guest. Thank.
