To create it, I prepared:
- wooden board (30 cm by 17 cm);
- decorative cloves (two packs of 150 pieces each);
- hammer, awl, pliers;
- kapron threads of black, white and red;
- a ruler and a simple pencil;
- image of seals on a sheet of paper.
Step 1. For my work, I took the usual chopping wooden board. I was attracted by its shape and the finished hole, for which it would be possible to attach the picture to the wall. First, on the board with a ruler and a pencil, I drew the borders of the picture. The work will be 25x16 cm in size. For this, I retreated 0.5 cm from three edges, and 5 cm from the top (from the highest point). I drew a frame around the perimeter of the board and put notches (dots) on the lines at a distance of 1 cm. Then I transferred the image of cats to a wooden surface. This is very easy to do by cutting out the drawing in parts (it is easier to circle each individual part with a pencil). And also on all lines she put notches at a distance of about 1 cm.
Advice! It is necessary to carefully consider the location of the points at the intersections of the drawings, the beauty of the final result will depend on this.
Step 2. Then I had to drive a carnation at each point. To facilitate my work, I took an awl and made shallow holes in all the notches. Then I inserted the cloves into them, held them with pliers and drove them. It is very convenient to work with pliers, they not only saved my fingers from injury, but also allowed me to drive all the nails to the same depth.
Advice! Try to ensure that they are all clogged evenly and parallel to each other.
Step 3. At this stage, using the white nylon thread, I created the background of the picture. For this, the thread was carefully and slowly bound through the caps of carnations. At first I clung to each carnation, then through one and then through a few.
Advice! The coils can be made in a certain order, but I interwoven chaotically and it turned out beautifully too. Using a black kapron thread, I laid out silhouette images of seals. Here you need to carefully monitor that the thread is hooked on the head of each stud. The more you try on this stretch of work, the more beautiful the picture will be. A red thread was needed to create hearts.
Thus, a beautiful, delicate and original picture was obtained.
And now the wall of my room is decorated with three works using the string art technique: a couple of cats in love, a tree and a man with a lady of hearts.
