Slices of fruit on an openwork plate

Believe me, as soon as you master the technique of "quilling", you will simply not be stopped. I am fascinated by the process of curling paper stripes. I did not buy a special kit for this technique, but took the materials at hand. Instead of a quilling hook, I use a thin long wooden skewer. It is very convenient to wind a paper strip on it and easily remove the round billet. Then I let the little spiral unwind and glue the edge with the usual PVA glue. At first, I just twisted the "free spiral" elements in the evenings and put them in a container. When I had a lot of blanks, I made the simplest paintings and crafts (often these were flowers and animals). I gave crafts to my friends and colleagues. They liked the little surprises. But one fine evening I decided to do the work "Slices of fruit on a plate."
To work, you need to prepare:
- a set of paper for quilling (5 mm wide);
- scissors;
- PVA glue;
- wooden skewer.
I will focus on each individual fruit.
1. Grapes.
For him, you need to choose from a set of 21 a long strip of light green color. Out of 18, you need to twist the "tight spirals", and the 3 remaining strips need to be cut into 4 parts each. Of these, we make the elements of the "eyes", and twist one randomly. Glue the blanks as shown in the photo.

2. Strawberries.
For this fruit, you need to take 33 red stripes and 1 green. 31 stripes must be cut in half and twisted the elements of "tight spirals". 2 remain for wrapping the finished form. The green stripe needs to be cut in half and twisted two elements "arrowhead". Glue the elements as shown in the photo.

3. Orange and lemon.
Take 11 yellow stripes, 2 orange, 16 white. Of the 10 yellow stripes, you need to make 20 elements of the "triangle" and wrap each half with a white strip. From the remaining strips of white color you need to make small "tight ovals." The remaining strips are used to wrap the finished slices. Glue all the elements you need, as in the photo.

4. Qiwi.
For these fruits, prepare 13 dark green strips, 1 white, 2 brown, 10 black. Of the green stripes, you need to twist 26 "drop" elements, from white - 2 "eye" elements, and from black - 20 blanks "dense spiral". Browns will be used to wrap the finished work. Collect all the elements as shown in the photo.

5. Pineapple.
Take 9 pale yellow stripes. From 8, make the large elements a "triangle", and the latter is needed to wrap the work. The photo will tell you how to glue the elements.

6. The apples.
Take 3 yellow stripes, 3 red, 1 brown and 1 green. We make 6 “dense ovals” from the brown strip, 3 “eyes” elements from the green, and twist the yellow and red ones as in the photo.

I laid out all the finished fruits on an openwork plate, which I had previously made using the quilling technique. You can also glue the same plate in the photo.

This beautiful work is obtained from ordinary paper strips twisted into spirals and various elements.
