In this review, the author makes a home-made cutting machine for metal from a small grinder (angle grinder). Moreover, the machine has a broaching function.
To make this device, the author uses a C-shaped profile, a wooden block, a piece of chipboard (can be replaced with plywood).
First of all, cut off the C-shaped profile of the required length - this will be the guide for the grinder. The author inserts a fitted wooden block into it.
The bar itself should move freely inside the profile - then the grinder will be attached to it.
The main stages of work
In the center of the wooden block you need to drill a through hole. The author presses two bearings into it from two sides of the bar.
From a segment of a C-shaped profile, it is necessary to make a mount for the grinder. We fix it to the gear housing of the grinder with bolts.
Then in this mount you need to drill a hole in the center - so that you can attach to the bar inside the guide.
At the next stage, the author cuts out the base of the desired length and width from a chipboard sheet. On the edges of the base are attached two racks of wooden blocks. Then the guide itself is attached to the racks.
At the last stage, the author makes emphasis from pieces of plywood for blanks, which can be adjusted and set at different angles.
