In this review, the author shows how to make a home-made electric lawn mower with your own hands. It consists of an electric motor, a cutting knife, a protective cover and a convenient handle.
Since the engine is electric, you will need an extension cord with a socket. As for engine power, it is better to choose a 500-1000 Watt engine (and at least 3000 rpm).
For convenience, four wheels must be attached to the bottom of the base of the electric mower. The frame itself is welded from round pipes.
The main stages of work
The first step is to cut a circle of the desired diameter from a piece of sheet metal. The edges must be treated with a grinder with a petal disk to remove burrs.

At the next stage, in the cut-out circle, you need to drill a hole for the motor shaft (in the center) and four mounting holes so that you can fasten the electric motor.
Cut a piece of metal strip and weld it to the previously cut circle. Thus the protective casing turned out.
Lawn mower assembly
Next, cut off two pieces of a round pipe, suitable in length, and attach the wheels to them. We weld two side parts of the base with each other using another piece of a round pipe. Front weld the platform with the engine.
From the sheet metal we cut the cutting disc. We drill a hole in the center, put it on the motor shaft and fix it with a nut.
At the last stage of the work, it remains only to weld the handle and paint all the metal parts.
