The first step is to anneal the file. To do this, the author places it in the hearth and glows to a temperature of 800-850 degrees. After this, the file should be allowed to cool slowly.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, the master makes the marking - draws the contours of the knife on the workpiece. Then you need to cut the blade with a grinder. The tail of the file does not need to be cut.
Further, the author processes the workpiece on the grinder, removing irregularities and burrs. After this, it is necessary to make the descent of the blade. For convenience, the author uses a special device.
Then in the workpiece you need to drill two holes for fixing the handle. We carry out quenching and tempering of the workpiece.
