In this review, the author shares the original idea of how, with your own hands, using a minimum of tools, you can make a portable cutting table with a deep metal tray (the tray itself is purchased).

Sliced vegetables and other products can be immediately “swept” with a knife into the drawer tray, which is very convenient. A cutting table is made of wood (preferably hardwood).

Please note that in this case, the author uses wooden blanks of light and dark shades - for greater originality. First of all, from the boards with the help of a circular saw, you need to cut small bars.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, the sawn-off bars must be sanded and preferably calibrated, and then glued using a regular PVA into a small shield, alternating them in color. Then we clamp with clamps and leave the glue to dry.

Next, we glue the glued shield, then grind it with a grinder or an eccentric grinder. If desired, the edges of the table can be rounded with a manual milling cutter. But you can just go for sandpaper, the main thing is that there are no sharp corners.

After this, it is necessary to cut off two pieces of the board - these will be the legs for the cutting table. They need to make a groove along the entire length into which a metal tray (pallet) will be inserted.

Then it remains only to glue the legs to the table, sanded again and cover with varnish or mineral oil. For details on how to make a portable cutting table with a metal tray, see the video on the site.
