In this review we will tell and show how to make a home-made rolling pneumatic jack on the basis of a hydraulic jack with a lifting capacity of 12 tons. The design is intended for quick and easy lifting of cars, and not only.
According to the author, the main advantage of this home-made design is that you do not need to put extra effort. Having a compressor and a gun for pumping tires, you can quickly raise the car to a height of 75 cm.
To make a do-it-yourself pneumatic jack for a car, you will need a hydraulic bottle-type jack, a channel, two wheels with roller bearings, bolts with nuts, as well as metal plates for jibs and some other materials.
The manufacturing process of a rolling jack
The main task is to make the base of the jack and lifting leg. And also it will be necessary to equip products with wheels and a handle for ease of movement. First you need to cut off 2 pieces of the channel and weld them together with the letter "G".
Further, the author cuts a longitudinal “window” in a small channel of 190 * 30 mm in size. Although, for convenience, this can be done in advance - even before welding the channels with each other. But in this case, the author considered it necessary to do everything in this order.
Then it will be necessary to cut the corners on both sides of the channel and drill holes. Then, two wheels on roller bearings are installed in the drilled holes.
At the last stage, a hydraulic jack is installed and a lifting “foot” of the channel is attached. A rolling pneumatic jack is more convenient and easier to use, because it's like pumping a wheel. But when using the "hydraulics" a compressor is not needed, and you can always take it with you on the road. The choice is yours.
