A simple home-made collar, which can be made from a piece of a stud and a bolt, can be useful not only in a summer cottage, but also in a private house or even in a garage. And to make this "device" is very simple.

As you may have guessed, this tool is designed to tighten home-made soft wire clamps (for example, to fix a hose on a pipe or pull two bars together). In general, the thing is simple, but useful.

First of all, cut a piece of a stud of a suitable diameter to size. Clamp the workpiece in the lathe chuck, and grind the front of the part under the cone. In principle, you can do without a turner - grind part of the stud with a regular grinder.

Clamping Process

At the next stage, approximately in the middle of the stud, we drill a through hole for the bolt. It is best to drill a hole on a drilling machine. Then insert the bolt and tighten it with a nut. We also drill holes in the cap of the bolt and the nut itself.

Then we weld the nut to the bolt stud, and also weld a small piece of a round bar to its end. It will be used as a winch. At the end of the conical part, you need to make a slot for the wire grinder.
