With this simple tool, various operations for hot and cold forging of metal can be performed (mainly with small parts and metal blanks). Do it yourself do-it-yourself mini electric hammer from a screwdriver or a power drill can be made from improvised materials.

For this homemade product you will need a medium-sized hammer with a round striker, a screwdriver or an electric drill, a piece of thick rubber, a sledgehammer, which will be used as an anvil, and fasteners: screws, self-tapping screws, bolts with nuts.

The main stages of work

First of all, we drill a hole in the wooden handle of the hammer - for a bolt or stud. Then from the bars or pieces of plywood we assemble a homemade mount for a hammer. One through hole must be drilled in the side walls to fix the hammer with a bolt or stud with nuts.

The base of the entire structure is made from a regular board (you can use other materials that are at hand). Closer to the edge we install the mount for the hammer and fasten it to the screws.

From an inch board or plywood, we cut out a part in the form of a “curl”, which during rotation will set in motion a hammer. In the center of the workpiece, we drill a hole for the bolt and connect it to a vertical stand from a bar, which we fasten to the base of the homemade product.

On the side we install a wooden stand for a screwdriver or electric drill, and approximately in the center of the base we fix a round or rectangular head from a sledgehammer. Then it remains only to install the drive, and securely fix it with clamps.
