Wrench broken? Do not rush to throw it away. Even a thing that has served its purpose will gain a second life in capable hands. In this article we will tell you how to make a wrench from a broken wrench in a home or garage workshop. A broken tooth, a protrusion of the working profile is not a tragedy, but only an occasion to show resourcefulness and skill.
To implement the plan you will need:
- broken wrench;
- grinder, saw for metal;
- grinding device, file;
- two bolts and nuts;
- welding machine;
- metal strip of small thickness;
- drill.
Adjustable wrench manufacturing process
We saw off the protrusions from above and on the sides to the lower working part, as a result of which we get a rectangular base with a small recess. After file processing, you should get a flat surface with two small rectangular protrusions at the edges.
We cut a piece from a metal billet, drill holes for bolts. We weld nuts on both sides of the upper part of the key. The bolts are inserted into the machined piece of the strip and screwed into the nuts. Now the homemade adjustable wrench is ready for use.
