Home furniture from the Ikea brand has always been distinguished by simplicity, convenience and practicality. However, even the most ideal at first glance, a thing can always be modified or remade for yourself.
The Ikea stool, made of steel and plastic, is comfortable and compact, but completely “tasteless”. This is easy to fix if you add a few elements from the tree.
Materials and progress
First of all, you need to replace the factory seat from plastic to wooden, and it is better to make it from hardwood with a beautiful texture - oak or beech. After you have cut a round billet, you need to grind it well and slightly round the edges.
At the next stage, it is necessary to cut out three semicircular parts, glue them together using wood glue, and then grind it - this will be the back of the stool.
You will also need a piece of steel plate, in which you need to drill five holes (three in the lower part, two in the upper). Then, holding the metal workpiece in a vise, it must be carefully bent at an angle of 90 degrees. The seat and backrest, if desired, can be painted with stain or coated with colorless varnish.
Chair assembly process
To assemble such a stool is easy. First, a wooden seat is screwed to the legs, and then a steel plate bent at right angles to its lower part. After that, the back is screwed. Such a chair will be much more convenient compared to the original version of the assembly.
