Regardless of the scope, this decoration looks very stylish. And it's so easy to create! Read on and you will learn how to make a dahlia from satin ribbons using the kanzashi technique with your own hands.

The level is easy. Production time - 1.5-2 hours.
Materials and tools:
  • a piece of felt of white color measuring 5x5 cm;
  • silk / satin ribbon of pale pink shade 2.5 cm wide;
  • scissors;
  • ready middle for kanzashi;
  • hot gun or universal glue;
  • ruler;
  • candle or lighter.

Step by step instructions with photos

Step 1: Cut the tape into pieces.

Cut a silk ribbon 2.5 cm wide of pale pink or any other shade (optional) into 5 cm pieces. In total, you will need to make 28 such pieces.
Step 2: make a petal.

Take one of the segments.
Fold it twice in length, face up. Stretch the central fold well with your fingers.

On one side of the cut line, lower the fabric down from the central fold by about one third. After that, lift the tape up exactly to the center line. Lower the remaining fabric from the midline down.

Repeat the above operations with the rest of the tape on the other side. Grasp all the formed folds carefully with tweezers.

Pull back the beginning of the segment by about 0.5 cm, after which the section from the central fold to the edges is cut diagonally. Fuse this part over the candle fire and seal with your fingers. This step is not necessary, but with it your petals will look much more neat.

On the opposite side of the line, make a small fold exactly to the center line.
On the other hand, make the same fold symmetrically.
Pinch the newly formed folds with tweezers. Fuse them over the candle fire and seal them with your fingers. One petal you made.

Using the same technique, make another 27 petals (28 in total).

Step 3: collect the flower.

From a piece of felt of white color measuring 5x5 cm, cut a neat circle.

Glue the petals symmetrically onto the circle using universal glue or a glue gun. This will be the first tier.

For the second tier, add another 8 petals to the felt. Glue these petals so that each upper one is located exactly between the two lower ones.
To make the third tier, add another 6 petals to the craft. When creating this circle, move back from the previous one by about 0.5 cm.

To make the fourth tier, add the remaining six petals to the decoration. Position them so that each upper one is exactly between the two lower ones.
In the middle of the craft, attach a suitable middle for kanzashi. Such a middle can be bought in a store already ready or made independently.
