Ingredients

To cook baked mackerel you will need:
  • - freshly frozen mackerel - 1-2 pcs.;
  • - lemon - 1/2 pc.;
  • - onion - 1 pc;
  • - salt;
  • - seasoning for fish.

Cooking Mackerel in the Oven

1. To prepare this dish, I try to choose a fat, mackerel, medium size, so that it easily fits on a baking sheet. I defrost the fish, remove the entrails, rinse thoroughly, dip in a paper towel.

2. On one side, I cut the prepared mackerel into portioned slices to the ridge, rub it with salt on the outside and inside, sprinkle with seasoning for the fish. I leave the mackerel so pickled for 5-10 minutes.

3. While the fish is pickling, I take a medium-sized onion, peel it and cut into thin half rings.

4. Lemon thoroughly mine, cut off the ends, cut in half and cut into thin slices.

5. Gently stuff the lemon and onion slice into the incisions, inside the fish I also stuff the onion and lemon. I try to put onions more, it gives juiciness to fish and pleasant aroma.

6. I put the prepared fish on a baking sheet, previously greased with a small amount of vegetable oil, sprinkle with lemon juice and send it to the oven. I bake mackerel for about 20 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees. The readiness of the fish will be indicated by a golden crust. It is important not to overdo the mackerel in the oven, as burnt lemon and onions can only spoil the dish with their bitter aftertaste.

7. I take out the finished fish on a plate, decorate with greens and serve hot to the table. Baked mackerel with onions and lemon is a very tasty, simple, dietary and at the same time versatile dish. It can be served as a regular dinner, or for a family holiday. Surely, you will like this recipe and will be included in the treasury of specialties. Bon Appetit!
