Chinese F-clamps are relatively inexpensive and are great for a home workshop and garage.

Here are just a wide workpiece with their help you can’t pull off: for example, some wooden shields, shelves or drawers for the table.

In this review, the author shows how you can make the Chinese clamp better and more convenient to use. To do this, you need to lengthen it a little.

Of the basic materials, two pieces of the profile pipe 20 * 20 mm, a section of the profile 25 * 25 mm and a wing bolt will be needed.

The main stages of work

First of all, using a grinder or a hacksaw for metal, it will be necessary to cut off a movable element with a screw and a pressing nick from an F-shaped clamp.

Next, you need to cut a piece of the profile pipe 25 * 25 mm 10 cm long. In it, you need to drill a hole, and then weld the nut.

The profile itself must be welded to the previously cut part of the clamp. We clean the welds with a grinder or grinder.

The next step will require a wing bolt. It must be screwed into a nut welded to a section of the profile pipe.

Then the author cuts off two more pieces of the 20820 mm profile: one is long, the other is short. We weld them together at an angle of 90 degrees.

We connect the two parts to each other, and we get a fully modified and elongated clamp. The detailed process of modernization of the Chinese F-shaped clamp, see the video on the site.
