You can make a durable kitchen worktop from sand cement. And it will cost much cheaper than the factory. As an experiment, you can make, for example, a countertop to the cottage, and then you can already do the countertop for the house.
First of all, it is necessary to make a tabletop template - glue the frame from thin plywood with hot glue. We fasten the chipboard river along the edges, because the white side of the chipboard is smooth and waterproof. We lay the template on the melamine surface (waterproof and smooth surface, which is covered with chipboard).
Next, glue the glue on the outside of the seam chipboard. Glue the corners with silicone. Wax paste must be processed internal corners of the assembled form for pouring cement. After that, we pass the internal seams with silicone.
The main stages of work
Knead in two batches of concrete. The first batch contains: M300 sand cement, a special polymer primer that makes concrete stronger, and pigment for concrete. Wipe the surface of the mold with acetone and degrease. The first part of the solution must be sprayed with an air spray. This layer will give a nice smooth surface for countertops.
Then we add a small stone - it will appear in the form of a picture after polishing. We knead the second batch in the same way as the first, only additionally add glass fibers that will strengthen the concrete and make it stronger.
We smooth each new layer 1 cm high. With the help of needle rollers we seal the layer and expel excess air. To lighten the countertop, you can not fill the mold with concrete, but use a rigid foam, cutting out the frame under the countertop.
We lay it on the top layer of concrete, it will deviate from 7 cm of each edge. To keep the sheet from shifting, we fasten it to the chipboard with screws. Pour the rest of the mortar to the top, helping the cement to penetrate into inaccessible places with your hands. Drying time 3 days.
