Manually "uprooting" grains from the corncob is a long and very tedious process, especially if you need to peel a lot of corn. Therefore, at home it is much easier to use a simple device for this, which is easy to do with your own hands. Of the materials you need screws, a piece of plastic pipe and an electric drill (or screwdriver).
The main advantages of this homemade product are obvious: with a flick of the wrist, you can clean an entire ear of corn in just a few seconds. The simplicity of manufacturing devices can also be considered a significant advantage.
The main stages of work
From a plastic pipe of suitable diameter, which is used to install the water supply, it is necessary to cut a piece 30-30 cm long. Then we retreat from the pipe edge about 5-7 cm, draw a line and mark eight points. In these places we twist eight screws with a drill.
Then you need a regular long self-tapping screw, from which you need to cut off the hat. One end is twisted into the ear of corn (in the center), and the other, which is without a hat, is inserted into the chuck of an electric drill or screwdriver. To work with such a homemade device is very simple - even a child can handle it.
We insert a self-tapping screw into the drill chuck, screw its sharp edge into the corn cob, and then, rotating the corn at minimum or medium speed, insert it into the pipe with self-tapping screws. For grains, you must first substitute a deep plate or bowl.
