In this review we will tell and show how to quickly and from improvised materials make an ax from the movie "Vikings". To make it, you will need an old spring from a car (preferably a cargo one), as well as a leg from a Soviet chair. We will use a grinder and a grinding machine from the tool.

The main stages of work

To make a Viking hatchet, we will use a piece of an old spring from a car 10 cm wide and about 40 cm long. Then, using a previously prepared paper template, use a marker to draw the contours of the future product on the spring surface.

For subsequent operations, you will need a grinder with cutting and grinding wheels, with which we will output the final contours of the ax. We cut the workpiece with a grinder, and then carefully grind it, giving it the necessary shape. For jewelry work on metal, you can use a drill.

Making an ax handle

After machining the workpiece, we drill three holes for attaching a wooden handle, which we will make from the legs of the chair. You can use any other material that is at hand.

We cut a piece of the desired length from the legs of the chair, cut it in half and drill three holes in each half. Then we assemble the handle, fixing it on the screws with bolts, and then display its shape on the grinder.

At the last stage, we sharpen the blade. The result is a compact hatchet, which is useful on vacation in the country or in the country. You can see the detailed process of manufacturing an ax in the video on the website.
